A thing of beauty is a joy forever
I absolutely agree with this statement. When I see something beautiful, especially pictures of mature painters, I can't keep from looking at it. There is hardly a person that would be indifferent to oil canvases, water-colour or pastel pictures. When I saw Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" with beautiful young woman in the foreground at first time, I was amazed. The more I looked at it, the more I admired it. What I needed was to look at it more and more. This was no ordinary canvase. There was something magical and charming in it.

It really looks like that. I also have one of my favourite picture. It's Impression, Sunrise of a great impressionist Claude Monet.
ОтветитьУдалитьI also agree with you girls! It's so excellent that we can enjoy pictures, music and so on!
ОтветитьУдалитьWhat you say's perfectly true. But i think it goes further than that. We can't keep from admiring art, but the more we look, the more ideas are forming in our brains.
ОтветитьУдалитьThere is true magic, mystery and pure beaty depicted in the picture of Sandro's, I agree. And all those characters! Just look at them! Listen to them!
ОтветитьУдалитьOf august gold-wreathed and beautiful
Aphrodite I shall sing to whose domain
belong the battlements of all sea-loved
Cyprus where, blown by the moist breath
of Zephyros, she was carried over the
waves of the resounding sea on soft foam.
The gold-filleted Horae happily welcomed
her and clothed her with heavenly raiment.
Here is a very interesting descripton of the painting http://www.botticellibirthofvenus.com/
